FEM Structural Engineer
Description
What is expected from you :
- Critical analysis of specifications, mechanical design and proposal of alternatives
- Creation of finite element models and performance of analyzes to support the development and validation of the mechanical design
- Writing calculation reports, in compliance with the planning and allocated budget and evaluating the relevance of the results produced;
- Ongoing interactions with project teams
- Participation in internal and customer technical meetings (< 10 days of travel per year)
- Participation in vibration testing campaigns
Aspects of the function :
- The FEM structural engineer takes care of the optimization and structural validation of opto-mechanical equipment, particularly using finite element modeling.
- He is responsible for the structural performance of the design (dynamic behavior, robustness of the design in relation to different loading cases, minimization of deformations on the optics, etc.).
- He takes part in test campaigns to validate the mechanical behavior of the equipment.
- He works closely with the designers and engineers involved in the project and is in regular contact with project managers and clients.
Profile
- You are a civil engineer in electromechanics or equivalent
- You master the SIMCENTER software and can carry out finite element calculations using SAMCEF or NASTRAN
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 software is an asset
- Knowledge of optics is an asset
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- You have at least 5 years of experience as a calculator
- You are rigorous, precise and capable of handling several projects in parallel
- You are pragmatic
- You have strong teamwork and communication skills
- You are willing to learn
- Soft-skills: Autonomous / Rigorous / Proactif / Flexible / Result-oriented
